Cameras

The P2 panel has 2 different built-in cameras: the portrait camera and the panoramic camera.

Portrait camera Panoramic camera

The built-in portrait camera captures images of the person in front of the P2 panel. The Firmware software sends images from the portrait camera to the client pc and constantly evalues frames for ISO 19794-5 compliance. If a frame fulfills ISO criteria for a full frontal image, a full resolution image is sent to the client pc as the result of the acquisition. The capturing of a full resolution image can also be triggered by the operator. Because the portrait camera captures close-up images, it needs to be at the same height as the person's face.

The built-in panoramic camera captures monochrome images of the area in front of the P2 panel with a wide angle. The panoramic camera images are monitored by the Firmware software.

The Firmware detects an approaching person and locates the face. Once the face is found in the panoramic stream, the mobile unit of the P2 panel adjusts its position to the height of the person. The portrait camera then captures close-up images of the face.
