Cognitec recommends the following network configuration methods depending on the size of the network:
for medium-sized and large networks: automatic configuration via DHCP
for small networks: static IP configuration or automatic configuration via DHCP
To have a clear mapping of IP addresses to P2 panels, Cognitec recommends:
When using the automatic configuration via DHCP, select the DHCP assignment and map an IP address to a specific P2 panel.
Use a DNS server to allocate names to the P2 panels.
Choose names that reflect the location of the P2 panel.
